Linke won Berlin state election on Sunday
Katharina Pötter and Belit Onay also secured Mayoral victories in Osnabrück and Hannover.
On Sunday, Linke won the Berlin state election, while the AfD emerged as the leading party in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Parliamentary election. In the same day, the CDU fell to single-digit support in that state. Mayoral contests in Osnabrück and Hannover were also decided, with Katharina Pötter and Belit Onay winning respectively.

In Hannover, Belit Onay won the Mayoral contest, surpassing candidates such as Axel von der Ohe, Peter Karst and Jessica Schülke. Her election was confirmed on 13 September, adding another left-wing mayor to the list of recent sub-national wins.
